This snowgum is growing on the main range track near Charlotte Pass. It is one of many aged, weather worn trees that are surviving in the most exposed area in all of Australia.
This is a beautiful piece, Shirley. Lots of wonderful colors here. I went through your paintings and think they are amazing. I look forward to seeing more of your work.
I am admiring this painting and with my eyes it is hard to tell that it is an oil. You have achieved a beautiful look that is similar to your watercolors. I have been painting in watercolor for a long time and last year took up oil. I love both mediums. Do you thin your paints a lot when using the oils?

Hi Pat, Thank you for your kind comments.
I do use medium when I paint with oils: Liquin. This gives a good flow and is quick drying (overnight).
Beautiful style, beautiful paintings..
